An illustrated book of Roal Dahl’s “The Three Little Pigs.” The storybook is aimed towards older children, between the ages of 6-9 years. A unique panelling layout was used throughout the book to appeal to the audience. I utilised my own hand-written typeface to coincide with the hand-crafted aesthetic of the storybook, and to also a provide a friendly/engaging voice to the novel for the audience. I decided to use the fast-back binding method and a dust jacket cover to create a more professional storybook aesthetic, while still administrating a hand-made quality to the book.
Throughout the story, there was repetition within the environments, character positions and colour to allow children to familiarise and understand the story. Moreover, the childlike illustrations create a juxtaposition to the gruesome ending of the story. Towards the end of the book, the illustrations become darker in colour, foreshadowing the somber end.
